Andrés Felipe Merchán Loza was born in Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia on June 2nd, 1992.
At the age of 9, he entered the Symphonic Band of Colegio Panamericano, playing the Oboe for 3 years, then change to the Soprano Saxophone, an instrument that he would play for five years and during his last year of participation in the Symphonic Band alternating with the Bass Guitar.
In June of 2010, he finishes his secondary studies in Colegio Panamericano and enters the faculty of music at the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB), studying for a semester and having as his main instrument the Bass Guitar.
At the beginning of 2011, looking for better opportunities, he decided to move to Bogotá D.C., to pursue his studies in Music Education at El Bosque University. After completing the basic 6-semester cycle with the Bass as his main instrument, he decides to enter the Arrangement emphasis, which consists of 4 semesters. During the time dedicated to the emphasis, he made various compositions and arrangements of popular and academic nature, works that involved the use of techniques such as Serialism, Set Theory, Atonalism, Modal Compositions, and arrangements in which he merges Folk and Pop music (Pop, Rock, Soul, Trip Hop, etc.) with Jazz. He also worked composing music for multimedia (music for a short film). His Grade Project focused on the arrangement of 3 pieces of video game music to Big Band formats taking as reference 3 different styles of Jazz: Swing, Latin Jazz, and Ballad Swing.
On August 17, 2017, he received his university degree at El Bosque University, which gave him the title of Master in Music (Maestro en Música). Since then he has had the opportunity to work/collaborate on a great variety of projects that range from Videogames to AR Applications with companies such as Atari, Dreams Uncorporated, Augmented Island Studios, Microsoft, and Logitech creating music and sound with his latest project been the musical composition of the OST for Lunar Lander Beyond.
